Fundraising events now underway!

A massive thank you to our fundraising team, who continue to organise events for Sophie’s appeal.

It’s worth pointing out again that after hitting our target on Friday following an amazing response from so many kind people, everything we raise over the target will be managed by the charity that’s been supporting us – Kids ‘n’ Cancer, to help other children and Sophie in the future.

Yesterday, we were collecting at Waitrose in Frimley – thanks to Jimmy and Laura Pain for organising it and collecting, and thanks to Waitrose for allowing us to run the event at such short notice. Thanks also to Laura’s daughter Daisy, Jimmy’s mum Liz and his neice Caitlin for helping with the collections. Everyone was so generous, thank you.

It you lived locally and had a sweet tooth, you may have been to the home-made cake sale at the Farnborough Market car boot sale. Laura, Katherine and helpers were busy in the kitchen for the past couple of days and had loads of tasty treats! Also, thank you to Caroline Peirce for raising £127 by organising a gymkhana today in Badshot Lea. Check out the Events section of this site for details of other things going on this week.

We were contacted by Charlotte Witts earlier who works at one of The Office shops. She let us know their store had collected £156 today! Thank you Charlotte and colleagues and thank you to Louise Ryan who has put Sophie’s appeal into all branches of Office.

Watch out for more news here and on our Facebook and Twitter pages. News of Sophie’s story continues to spread and we’re receiving lots of messages of support – including from those in the world of entertainment! You can see video messages on Facebook and Twitter from the cast of Ghost – the musical, and The Overtones! We will post the videos on the website shortly.

We read every message and we’re so grateful for the kind words of support. Please keep letting us know if you’re doing any fundraising and we’ll add it to the events page and ensure you’re thanked!

Ruth, Andrew, James and Sophie
